Vegas 2022

What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, right?

Sure, unless you write a blog.

Day One

Our first full day in Vegas. Jerry and I got up early, 6am, and headed out on the Vegas strip to the Cosmopolitan for (excuse the term) Egg Slut. We heard this place was very popular and to get some of the food you had to arrive early.

We may or may not have gotten lost in the casino on the ground level before finding the restuarant. Ultimately resulting in us arriving when when there was already about 50 people waiting in line. Unwilling to give up we joined in and waited.

We got two Breakfast Sandwiches, two Sluts, and a whole bottle of pre mixed Mimosa.

It feels so weird to discuss the food given the name, but the slut’s were delicious. You can dip the bread into coddled egg atop a puree of mashed potatoes or just eat it with a spoon. Loved the food even if it was a bit over priced but its Vegas, everything is overpriced here.

Slightly drunk on Mimosa’s Jerry and I headed back to the casino and played some Roulette. A couple of the drink ladies deemed us fitting for more mimosa’s and only furthered our intoxication. After two more drinks we made our escape to Ceasars Palace where Jerry coped a feel of a lady who wasn’t me.

Look at how proud he is of himself. The look of accomplishment.

The shops and restaurants of Hotels and Casinos are fun to explore but many of them are designer name brands like Luis Vitton and Gucci or five star resaurants. A bit above our tax braket and comfort levels.

Around 2pm we headed back to our hotel and got ready for the real reason we were in Vegas. Did you really think two nerds with little interest in gambling and alcohol really went to Vegas just for that? Please. We here for BTS.

Socially awkward and posing like an old couple. That's how we roll.

By some miracle or stroke of luck when we arrived at the venue to line up they just opened a new section and we got front of the opening gates! It was great we were hidden from the harsh sun and first in line. I like to think all my luck comes from having Jerry around.

Moving on! We here to see seven handsome men. In our seats geared up and ready to go Jerry and I turned into two giant fangirls.

I ain’t gonna share any of the videos. I don’t want to hurt anyone with my screaming and terrible singing.

The concert was amazing. There were streamers and confetti (I shoved a whole bunch in my bag before leaving), pyrotechnic work, lots of cool light shows, and of course so much BTS. Jerry and I agree it is amazing being around so many people who also like the same things as you. We were sat by some of the sweetest and respectful girls. Truly an honor to be around so many ARMY.

With muted hearing and scratchy throats we exited the venue. If the concert wasn’t amazing it was seeing the street packed with people like a flowing river.

People for as far as the eye could see.

For a bit of perspective regarding my amazement by the sheer number of people, the entire population of the city I grew up in and surronding villages could all fit in this stadium.

Jerry and I had meant to catch an Uber or Lyft back to our hotel but we just kept walking and walking and walking. We walked the entire Vegas Strip back to our hotel. 3.5 miles (5.6km). Our feet were tired, dirty, and sore by the time we made it back and we slept very deeply that night.

Day Two

The entire time we had been here there was always one thing I wanted to do. Swim in the pool. What could make it better? A drink. And after the amount I spent on two drinks I could use another. $70 for two drinks… my jaw was dropped, Jerrys jaw was dropped, my bank accounts metaphysical jaw was dropped. We drank those drinks like gold flakes were floating around in them and never ordered more. Apparently you have to be specific about your orders at the bars or the bar tenders take liberty to give you high end booze. I didn’t know that.

Drink in question.

Drinks drunk and minds blown we left the pool area before we (I) some how got roped into spending more money.

A cute selfie before dinner

Jerry and I got dressed up again and made our way further down the strip to the Wynn for The Buffet, no seriously the restaurant is called “The Buffet“. Weird. We had seen a lot of food Youtubers go to this buffet and they all spoke very highly of it so we had to give it a try ourselves.

I will give The Buffet the benefit of the doubt, it was Easter and they were specifically catering to the traditional foods eaten on the holiday, ham and the likes. It wasn’t our vibe, therefore The Buffet did not wow us or convince us it was worth the high price tag.

We tried to get our monies worth and stayed two hours, yes it was a lot of food, we don’t talk about it. After we caught sight of a few girls walking around with BTS merch and we just had to know where we could get our own.

A small shop even further down the Vegas Strip was selling a whole bunch of merchandise outside. We each grabbed some cute plushies while they were left and boogied back to our hotel.

Jerry insisted they needed to be tucked in.

Our last night at Vegas. A flight in the morning with a long layover half way home. We should probably get to sleep.

Or get Fat Tuesday and gamble. That works too.

When you go gambling you need to have a realistic approach. Gambling is entertainment. In the end for us it’s all about how much time did I waste on a machine and was it fun? You go in with a set amount to lose so you don’t feel crappy after. We ain’t trying to win big, and we didn’t. We spent all the money we came with. 🥲 Pockets empty and minds tired we did a final lap around the hotel before heading back to our room.

It just looked so pretty at night.

Jerry was a bit wild when we returned to the room and made a big show of his singles to the plushies.

Our trip to Vegas was short, yet exciting. We truly enjoyed it all from the raging over Kpop’s most popular group BTS, eating food with derogartory names, and paying for over priced items. Even though I never thought we would go to Vegas because it just didn’t seem like something for us. I now know this area has something for anyone, you just have to look in the right areas and be smart.
